This book comes to me in an unusual way. I received an email from the publisher and editor asking if I'd be willing to review BIND 9 DNS Administration Reference Book. Ok, that's not unusual. In fact, it happens to me all the time. What is unusual is that I'd never heard of Reed Media Services before. One reason is that they seem to be a smaller publishing house that was originally started to "print newsletter publishing, online publishing (including related software design), and providing related internet hosting services". The other reason is that they've only produced two books thus far (The OpenBSD PF Packet Filter Book is the other one).

Fruitland water users install water treatment system to meet EPA regs
The Fruitland Domestic Water Company has 175 shareholders with water being provided to 140 homes on Fruitland Mesa. The private water company has just completed construction of a new water treatment system that meets all EPA standards. The system will be fully operating by this spring. Pipeline construction began in 1979 with the first 40 customers receiving water in 1980. The 20-mile pipeline was established primarily to bring water to livestock on the mesa. A drought in the 1970s made it hard for ranchers to water their cattle. From that beginning, more families have moved to Fruitland Mesa and the water company served their needs. The company began working on the new system in 2005. The new filtration system was needed due to EPA regulations that the state must follow.

Spirits high at wine festival
Revellers at the 25th annual Marlborough wine festival have not let Blenheim's water crisis dampen their fun. Local residents are boiling drinking water after e-coli bacteria was found in the town's supply. But while that has meant plenty of boiling for locals, the only thing boiling at Brancott Estate was the temperature. "We're on a different supply here to town, so we've put water filters on all the drinking water today, just to to be absolutely safe and sure," says organiser Tom Trolove. Festival goers could relax and enjoy the music, the food, the atmosphere and the wine, with some coming from as far away as Germany. "It brings together people who enjoy wine and food and brings them together in a festive occasion. It's just fantastic," says Jamie Marfell from Montana Wines.
